Turkey: New Banknotes. until the end of 2009; therefore New Turkish Lira banknotes
and Turkish Lira Banknotes and coins will both be in circulation throughout 2009. for 1 year (redemption period) starting from January 1,
2010 at the branches of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey and T.C. Ziraat
Bankasi. as of January 1, 2009 was decided by The Council of
Ministers on April 4, 2007. There will not be any change in the value of the currency,
only the name of the currency will change (1 New Turkish Lira = 1 Turkish
Lira).

1, 2009.
The New Turkish Lira (YTL) banknotes and New Kurus (YKr) coins will be valid
The New Turkish Lira banknotes can be redeemed for a period of 10 years and
coins
The removal of the prefix "New" used in the "New Turkish Lira" and "New Kurus"
