Bangladesh:
New 1,000 taka note The new 1,000 taka notes
were issued Oct.27. Bhutan:
New 50 and 1,000 ngultrum notes. The new series of notes has
been completed with the release of the denominations of 50
and 1,000 ngultrum. Djibouti:
New bank name in 2,000 francs name. The new notes of 2,000
francs bear the name of “Banque Centrale de Djibouti” instead of the old “Banque
Nationale de Djibouti.” Honduras:
New watermark. The notes of 20 lempiras
dated 2006 have a vertical watermark in the right center of the
note, formed by a row of “20”s . Latvia:
Improved 10 lat note. The 2008 dated 10 lat note
has been improved by the printing of the value in Optical
Variable Ink. Laos:
New 1,000 kip note. This is the image of the
recently issued note of 1,000 kip. Macedonia:
Coin replacement. The notes of 10 and 50
denari will be replaced by coins. Both will co-circulate. Northern Ireland: New 5 pounds note. The bank name in the front
of 2008 dated note of 5 pounds is now written in sans-serif letters. Poland:
Commemorative note. The National Bank of Poland
announced that it will issue a collector’s note of 10 zlotych to
commemorate the 90th Anniversary of Restoration of Independence. Rwanda:
New bank name. The bank name in the 500
francs note dated 2008 has been changed to “Bank Nkuru y'u Rwanda.” The
design remains unchanged. Uruguay:
New watermarks. The notes of 20 and 1,000
pesos dated 2008 have as the watermark the portraits of Juan Zorrilla de San Martin
and Juana de Ibarbourou respectively. The previous notes had the
portrait of Artigas. Zimbabwe:
Yet more zeros. The Reserve Bank continues
to issue bigger and bigger notes in an orgy of zeros. This week they released a
1,000,000 dollars note, which was worth USD8 three days ago.
