Bahrain: New Series.
The Central Bank of Bahrain, successor to the Bahrain Monetary Agency,
has
released a new series of notes in March. Cambodia: New note. The National Bank of Cambodia has placed a new
20,000 riel note into circulation on May 12. Israel: New polymer note. The Bank Israel has issued a polymer 20 new
sheqalims note, which will eventually replace the paper ones. A small number of them has
been overprinted in red with an inscription commemorative of the 60 Years of the State of
Israel. Nicaragua: Polymer notes.
The new 20 cordobas polymer notes will be released in early July. Papua New Guinea: New polymer notes.
The Bank of Papua New Guinea has issued new polymer 5 and 10 kina notes in
April. Paraguay: New 50,000 guaranies note.
A new 50,000 guaranies note has been issued by the Central Bank of Paraguay on
May 13.
It honors the musician Agustin Barrios. Eventually
these will replace the current style notes.
Zimbabwe: Mega notes. The Reserve Bank of
Zimbabwe has issued this Friday a 500 million dollars "bearer cheque"
and "special agro cheques" of 5; 25 and 50 billion
which will also be in circulation.
